Google Applicants Questions

December 20, 2009 · Filed Under Other · 2 Comments

While looking some article on jdmag.com I found post where they mention interesting questions Google give his possible employees. Some questions are hard and some looks very stupid, but one can only imagine what all answers people give. Probably on some questions creativity is main thing what Google look for.

Anyway here is the copy paste from their site:

  • How would you boost the GMail subscription base?
  • What is the most efficient way to sort a million integers?
  • How would you re-position Google’s offerings to counteract competitive threats from Microsoft?
  • How many golf balls can fit in a school bus?
  • You are shrunk to the height of a nickel and your mass is proportionally reduced so as to maintain your original density. You are then thrown into an empty glass blender. The blades will start moving in 60 seconds. What do you do?
  • How much should you charge to wash all the windows in Seattle?
  • How would you find out if a machine’s stack grows up or down in memory?

And on this blogpost you can check for 140 questions which Google give to their possible employees :D

Converting docx to .doc

May 20, 2009 · Filed Under Other · 2 Comments

Few days ago I got by mail some word document which I badly needed. I thought publishing will be quick job, but…

…but then I realized that my Office XP can’t open it. I tried to open it by force but I only got garbage. Quickly looking at the Google I realized that Microsoft changed format in Office 2007 and that I would need some converter or new Office. I quickly tried to contact the guy who sent me file, but it was to late he was offline so my only choice was to search for converter. Firstly I wanted to find as much as I can about the format. Docx net site was very helpful. I found that I can find plugin for my Office or I can use online converter tool. Since I thought I will not need this again I decided to use online tool at http://docx-converter.com/. Simply I browsed my file and gave them my email address. Five minutes later I got my file.

Easy as pie.

May 19, 2009 · Filed Under Other · 1 Comment

I just moved this site to my new reseller and I got privat domain nameservers. However before they were operational I needed to setup them on my registrar. So here are the steps how to do it on GoDaddy.

1. Login to GoDaddy
2. Go to My Domain
3. Open the details for given domain
4. In the lower left corner under „Host Summary“ click on add
5. Enter the needed data (ns1 or ns2 and IP you get from your host)
6. Click Save
7. If needed repeat step 4 to add another domain name server.
8. Click on your domain nameservers (top middle).
9. Enter your newly created custom domain name servers.
10. Hit Save.
11. Wait propagation of dns across the net (it can last up to 24-48 hours)
