But I don’t have a clue what to pick since I don’t have much money so I can not afford one of these best laptops today. One thing I know for sure is that I want 17” LCD on it or even larger. I used many time 15,6” wide screen laptops but I was never really satisfied with it. Once you get used on large diagonals and resolutions you can never return back. Next thing is that I don’t need strong graphic card on it, but fast processor and a bunch of ram gigabytes would be also cool. Other cool thing would be SSD hard drive but that is probably out of my money range. One of the cheap choices is Acer eMachines G725 with 17” wide screen monitor, T4200 Intel Dual Core, Intel GMA Graphics and 2GB of DDR II ram. I would probably put in 2 GB more. Its price is incredibly cheap with price less then a 1000$.

Hmm what to do?

3G iPhone is smart mobile phone by Apple (is there anyone who did not heard for them). It has that fancy design, so as all Apple products but iPhone 3G have great options and hardware under the skin. It is the advanced version of common iPhone. This phone is coming without keyboard. Actually it have keyboard – virtual keyboard on its screen, sensitive to touch. 2mpx camera is also here. Most interesting function for me is full 802 b/g wifi adapter for internet connection and UMTS or HSDPA 3G standard. His 400 MHz processor is probably strong enough for coffee surf. Also I am wondering how Opera Mini (even if Apple is against this – they prefer that you use Safari) would work on this thing.

Interesting option also is assisted gps and 3.5 inch TRRS connector for the headphones, so finally I can get rid of my old mp3 player. With its interface, 1400 mAh battery and lets say 8 GB memory card, iPhone will perform better then probably most cheaper mp3 players today. Interface is also respectable: 480×320 px, 3.5 in (89 mm), 3:2 aspect ratio, 262,144-color LCD.

Price: 500$
Conclusion: When it gets little bit cheaper, I will throw my old SE K750 into the garbage :) .

Here is the solution. Download these files (from various other Toshiba laptops), install them and everthyng will work (but only for Win XP).

1. Atheros WIFI card.

unpack, run setup, wait, restart

2. Intel 950 integrated graphics

Unpack, run setup, wait, finish install, restart

3. Intel PRO 100 lan

You must manualy install this so go to device manager and do update drivers with this ones.

4. High Defintion Audio
Download

Unpack,
Go to folder MSHDQFE -> Win2K_XP ->. Install kb888111xpsp2.exe. Restart PC.
After win update is installed just run setup for hda audio.

5. Modem
Download

Unpack, run setup, finish it. Restart PC.

6. Mass Storage
Download
